Elliott Erwitt

Elliott Erwitt was born on July 26th, 1928 in  Paris. Elliott Erwitt i known for black and white candid shots and his humerous situations within everyday settings. He is an advertising and journalistic photographer. Erwitt studied photography and filmaking at a college in Los Angeles. Erwitt was influenced by a number of photographers. These were: Edward, Robert Cappa and Roy Stryker. Stryker was a former director of the farm security administrations photography project department. Stryker soon hired Erwitt to work on a photography project for the standard oil company. This then oppened doors for Erwitts carreer as he then began a freelance photography carreer, creating photos for “colliers”, “Look”, “life” and holiday magazines. He then joined the “magnum photos” agency in 1953. This allowed Erwitt to work on photography projects around the world.
